Meeting Your Surgeon.

Meeting Your Surgeon.

Thousands of women all over the world, of all shapes and sizes are looking to enlarge, reduce or reshape their breasts, daily. Be it for medical reasons, vanity purposes, to help with low self esteem and more, women have been augmenting their breasts since the 1890’s! For most of us; the dream, the idea, the need or want of a breast enhancement or ‘boob job’ is the first stage, and essentially the easy part. Making those thoughts and dreams into reality, and seriously considering or booking the surgery is the harder part.

It’s only natural, at this stage, for ladies to start to feel nervous, even anxious, about the process, the surgery itself, the aftercare and more. Many will have a hundred and one questions. Please be safe in the knowledge that this is completely normal and very common when choosing to have breast surgery.

Patients Breast Surgery

Just a few of the most frequent questions our surgeons receive at the consultations are;

  • What type of breast surgery or procedure is right for me?
  • Is breast enhancement safe? What are the risks?
  • What will be expected of me?
  • How long does it take to perform / recover from breast surgery?
  • How long will my new breasts last?
  • Can I still breastfeed safely with a breast enhancement?
  • Will I lose sensation in my breasts or nipples?
  • Do implants affect mammograms / detecting breast cancer?
  • Are breast enlargements painful?
  • Are you (the surgeon) fully qualified and accredited?
  • What does your aftercare include?

At Red Rose, and at any establishment worth its socks, we think it’s imperative that all clients get to meet the actual surgeon that will be performing their surgery. We feel it’s extremely important that it’s the surgeon themselves, rather than a representative of the company, to help answer questions, as each lady, each pair of breasts and each procedure is different. Some may think they just want a breast enlargement, when in fact they will need an augmentation. Others may be aiming to enhance their breast size larger than their body frame, and others may not have any preconceived idea at all.

First Consultation with Surgeon

A consultation with your breast enhancement surgeon is absolutely essential, so you are able to establish the following;

  • What sort of procedure do you need? – what shape, size, incision site, placement and surface texture is recommended for you. They will go through all your options in much detail.
  • Learn about your surgeon – the surgeons we use are some of the best in the business. At the consultation you are invited to ask questions and allow them to tell you about; how much experience they have, how long have they been performing breast surgery, what accreditations they have gained, examples of their work and much much more. Once you know and feel like you are in safe hands with your surgeon, you’ll feel much more relaxed.
  • Letting you know what to expect – being given a full rundown of how it will all work before surgery, during surgery and after surgery is very important for you, and us. At consultations we strive to give you as much information as possible, and to answer all and any questions you might have, so you know what to expect with no surprises.

At Red Rose all our surgeons are Fellows of the Royal College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons and have successfully practised and gained respect in the cosmetic surgery industry for many years. We know how many questions and reservations ladies will have before breast surgery, and this is why we offer completely free consultations with surgeons, the professionals, themselves. Answering your queries, knowing you’re in safe hands, working through your options, expectations and aftercare should not be chargeable in our eyes. We know it’s a big decision and investment to you, so we are happy to consult you professionally for free. We are confident that we can assist, consult and perform your breast surgery like we do for 100’s each year. What’s more, we offer fully comprehensive and inclusive lifetime aftercare, absolutely free too. Be rest assured that you will always be in the very best of medical hands, and our priority is to make sure you are happy with your new look, not only now, but in the future too.

How to Prepare for Tummy Tuck Surgery.

How to Prepare for Tummy Tuck Surgery.

Once you have decided that it is something you want to move ahead with, you can choose a surgeon you are happy with, before organising to meet for a consultation. Our group of surgeons are all specialists in their own right and we can talk through each one with you so that making the decision is a little easier.  During your consultation you will meet with your surgeon and talk about your goals and desires for your procedure.

If you smoke, your surgeon will ask you to stop at least two weeks before the surgery until two weeks after the surgery. Since smoking makes complications more likely and slows down healing, this is a necessary part and is compulsory – it is not enough to simply slow down, you must stop.

Preparing for Tummy Tuck Surgery

Your surgeon will ask you to drink plenty of water in preparation and eat a nutritious, well-balanced diet. Again, an important stage in helping you heal better. These habits can be continued post-surgery too, to keep your immune system strong.  This will also mean you maintain a healthy body weight without too much fluctuation.

We will ask you about any medication you are taking and discuss your physical routines.  They may ask you to stop taking certain tablets or vitamins until well after tummy tuck surgery.

Your tummy tuck surgery will go ahead as per your personalised schedule and by removing excess fat and skin, as well as tightening the muscles in your tummy region, your surgery will leave you with a tighter, firmer abdomen

Post-surgery, we ask that you are realistic and plan adequate recovery time. Our surgeon recommends at least two weeks off from daily responsibilities, for rest. It is important that you get help if you have children and avoid heavy lifting or traveling for three weeks following your tummy tuck surgery.

To learn more about what you can do to prepare for tummy tuck surgery, call our experienced co-ordinators to discuss and schedule a complimentary consultation with our specialist team.

The Rise of the Natural Boob Job.

The Rise of the Natural Boob Job.

Natural Breast Implants Manchester

There are many reasons women today look at breast enlargement to enhance their natural body shape; loss of breast tissue volume after weight loss, the effects of childbirth and breastfeeding or simply to add balance and create a symmetrical breast shape. Breast augmentation today offers many new options for your breast cosmetic surgery and here at Red Rose Desire we are keen to help you achieve the natural breast enhancement look you desire to help improve your self-confidence and body image.

Subtle and naturally you

In the past, breast implants were seen as creating a ‘wow factor’ with dramatic results by using larger sized implants. Today, we find that the majority of our ladies are looking for a subtle or natural looking breast enhancement; their goal is for a smooth and natural look to emphasise their own natural breast shape.
Where once a surgeon would put in a similar size in each patient, we are now able to discuss and measure and work with a size that is a perfect fit for you and your body/curves.

Implant shape and size options

Changes and improvements to implants available has increased radically in recent years. Natural looking implant options are a very current trend and at Red Rose Desire we can provide implant options to fit your shape and size.  We often see ladies opting for one or two bra sizes up, this is enough for them, a natural look and enhancing feel.

Teardrop implants are designed to mimic the natural breast shape. As the name suggests the implants are shaped like a teardrop with more fullness in the lower half of the implant; creating a smooth tapered contour of the breast, gently sloping from the breastbone to the nipple. Teardrop implants are a very popular choice and are perfect for ladies looking to enhance their existing breast tissue and would like a more natural look to their breast augmentation.

Round implants can also achieve a natural appearance to your breast augmentation if you already have existing breast tissue and are looking for a fuller or curvier look, emphasising the natural shape that you already have. The type and shape of implants you choose can make a real difference to the outcome of your surgery. At your initial consultation we will work together to create a customised plan for your cosmetic surgery to enable to you to achieve the subtle, natural look you are hoping for.

Both teardrop and round implants are available in silicone gel option. The breakthrough technology used to make silicone gel implants is a strong and safe option with the implant remaining soft and has a very natural feel to the touch.

Techniques

In addition to implant options there are also various surgical techniques and incision options available to help reduce scaring and increase the natural look to your surgery. We want our patients to enjoy the benefits of life-changing cosmetic surgery without the downside of noticeable scarring, so this is a very important part of the choices we will discuss at your initial consultation with us.

For minimal scaring techniques to be effective, the incision is made where the skin has an existing fold, for example, an incision made under the breast at the top of the rib cage, allows the breast itself to cover any scarring from the incision point. Another option is crescent breast augmentation, here the incision is made near the nipple, in a half moon shape. Incisions made to the nipple area also creates minimal visible scarring that fades and blends into the areola over time. A crescent shaped incision made along the top half of your areola (nipple area) in each breast which is ideal for a breast lift and breast augmentation as at the incision point excess skin can be removed and an implant can be inserted to create a naturally uplifted, fuller and youthful looking breast.

Less is more

Natural boob job

Questions About Breast Surgery You Need To Ask.

Questions About Breast Surgery You Need To Ask.

Asking the right questions prepares you for your procedure, and allows you to get the best from your surgery and your surgeon.  It is always a good idea when in research stage to arm yourself with a list of questions covering topics you do not understand or need to know more about.
We advise patients to write these down, that way when you meet with your surgeon during your consultation; you are ready and are less likely to forget.

Your surgeon will always give you the most accurate, medical explanation, which is important when deciding which procedure is best for you. Whether it is breast enlargement surgery, breast reduction surgery or breast re-augmentation, we are here to answer any thoughts, or queries you might have to allow you to feel fully prepared and safe in the knowledge that your breast specialist surgeon team has recommended the right procedure to fit your surgery goals.
We know how important it is that you fully understand what the procedure involves, the benefits and risks, the aftercare included and the results.  We pride ourselves in getting to know you so that your results are unique to you.

The three most popular questions are:

How do I choose which implants are best for me?

Working alongside your surgeon, you can discuss and agree the best plan for you.  We offer a number of different kinds of breast implants options, each offering different profiles, shape and size.
Your surgeon is responsible for highlighting the features of the implants on offer and matching the perfect one for you.

How long do breast implants last?

Although breast implants are not designed to last forever, they can last quite a number of years.  Guidelines suggest that breast implants should be removed and replaced after around 10 years, if nothing else in the body has changed.  These guidelines vary from supplier to supplier.
Naturally as bodies change, many women opt for re-augmentation surgery before 10 years, and others want to make size or shape changes too.

Who decides on the size of implant?

Each breast procedure is tailored, and not one will be the same as another.
It is important to understand that your body type, your height and your weight are factors, which will affect which size is most suitable for you.

Ultimately, your desired breast shape and expected size is an important factor and will allow your surgeon to understand your desires, matching the right implant to you.
We want you to feel in control, and will allow you to work with the surgeon to create a plan and a look that is perfect for you.

Other question worth asking:

  • How long does the surgery take?

  • What does breast augmentation surgery involve?

  • How painful is breast augmentation surgery?
  • What are the risks of breast augmentation surgery?
  • What are the implants made of?  Are they safe?
  • What happens if there are complications?
  • Is there a risk I will not be able to breastfeed following surgery?
  • How long will the recovery take? How long will I be off work?
  • Another popular question to ask is:
  • How much will my cosmetic surgery cost?
  • Be sure to ask if everything is included in the price, including your surgeon and anaesthetist’s charges, your pain medications, dressings, and after-care follow-up appointments.
The only way to understand fully what the procedure entails, and for the most accurate medical information, is to come along and meet with our surgeon team. Book a free consultation here, at a date and time which is convenient for you, in either; Preston, Manchester, Bolton or Warrington.  We look forward to welcoming you with open arms.
