Mole Removal
Moles are a form of pigmented lesion and most moles which are benign (non-cancerous) can simply be left alone, and may never cause any harm. However, if your mole starts to bother you, or changes in any way, get in touch with us and we can discuss what your options may be. You will notice that moles are most often in places on the body which see the sun, i.e. the face, arms, legs and torso, which means that you may have many and as you would expect are therefore extremely common, however not two are the same, and so it is important to take care of them, and be aware of changes or raised areas. It is also possible for moles to continue to grow and develop into adulthood.
Offering a sevice to remove your mole, usually under local anaesthetic. Following a full examination by one of our specialists, the area around the mole will be cleaned with an anti-bacterial solution to limit infection, in readiness for removal.
To remove the mole, your surgeon will cut around it using a neat and tidy cut. Your surgeon will close the wound with small stitches (if needed) and cover it with a dressing, which will take a few days to heal. Your aftercare is important to us and most people will feel back to normal the very same day, with most returning to normal daily lives. The treated area will continue to fade out to blend with your natural skin tone over the following few weeks.
